NOTICEBOARD (30-10-2017)


• Singapore Airlines will introduce its new cabin products in suites, business class, premium economy and economy on its Singapore – Sydney route in December. The new product will initially be on five new Airbus A380 aircraft currently on order.

• British Airways operated by Comair won a service excellence award in the airline industry category at the 16th Annual Ask Africa Orange Index awards,  last week. The awards cover 32 industries and 169 companies.

• Air Mauritius has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350 XWB, which will be used to expand the airline’s network in Asia, Europe and Africa. From last week, it began operating three to four times each week between Johannesburg and Mauritius.

• Thompsons Holidays’ top-selling South America package is the nine-night Tango To Samba, including three nights in Buenos Aires, two at Iguassu and four in Rio, with breakfast daily, four half-day tours and airport transfers, from R13,780.

• World Travel Market Africa returns to Cape Town April 18 – 20. A Women in Travel Meet-up has been added to the programme, with a half-day of panel debates,  mentoring sessions and networking.

Sales will open on November 23 for MSC Cruises’ second world cruise, a 116-day voyage, operating in 2020. Bookings are already open for MSC Voyagers Club members. MSC Magnifica will call at 40 destinations in 23 countries.

• Perfect Destinations has launched a new website: www.perfectdestinations.co.za

• Singapore Airlines has ordered 39 new Boeing aircraft – 20 777-9s and 19 Boeing 787-10 Dreamliners, worth an estimated US$13.8-billion.
