TRAVELPORT URGES AGENTS USE TECHNOLOGY TO ADD VALUE TO THEIR ROLE

Date published 13.11.2017

TRAVELPORT has published the results of global survey documenting how travellers use technology during the planning, booking and travelling phase of their holidays and business trips and how travel agents can leverage the latest technology.

Through understanding how travellers are using technology leading up to and during their trips,  Travelport said travel management companies could present up-to-date travel options and engage through communication apps to remain relevant in a digital age. The Travelport Digital Traveller Research has specific focus on South African travellers and their technology habits.

“Dealing with automated apps and booking aggregators can be very frustrating for a traveller who just wants to deal with a human being, and this is where travel agents can make themselves invaluable,” commented Robyn Christie, the outgoing Travelport Country Manager South Africa.
