BOOKINGS for Airlink’s new service to St. Helena from Cape Town and Johannesburg are due to open this month. The airline will start with one direct flight each week on the Johannesburg route, with a stop-over in Windhoek for Cape Town flights. GDSs are being updated.

Launch fares were quoted in sterling, from £804 ex-Johannesburg economy, including taxes, and £846 ex-Cape Town. Business class is from £1,544 and £1,586.

Airlink has applied for fifth freedom rights on the leg between Windhoek and St. Helena, to enable passengers from other carriers to join or disembark at Windhoek and board local passengers.

A monthly charter flight will operate between St. Helena and Ascension Island from the third week of November. Thereafter, the flight will take place on the second weekend of every month.
