BRITISH Airways is facing another round of strike action by mixed fleet cabin crew. United union representatives said workers would down tools from this Wednesday to Wednesday August 30 unless a last minute deal is reached. A strike is expected to have little impact on flight schedules.

Unite called on BA to hammer out a new deal to avoid more August strikes earlier this month but negotiations were still ongoing by the start of the weekend.

Unite has accused BA of unfairly penalising cabin crew for participating in the strikes and said the airline had been forced to spend millions on wet-leasing aircraft to cover the striking cabin crew.

BA has maintained the strikes are unnecessary and put contingency plans and wet lease agreements in place to maintain operations.
