DELTA, VIRGIN AND AIR FRANCE-KLM POISED FOR TRANSATLANTIC TAKEOVER

Date published 07.08.2017

DELTA Air Lines said last week its new transatlantic joint venture with Alitalia, Air France-KLM and Virgin Atlantic would provide customers with better choice and services and help stimulate demand for their collective services.

Delta already has an existing agreement with Air France-KLM and said the aim was to develop a “partnership of choice for customers”. Additionally, Air France-KLM will take a 31 percent stake in Virgin Atlantic, “to offer customers the most comprehensive transatlantic route network”.

Delta said customers would also benefit from co-location of airport facilities, lounge access, shared loyalty programme benefits and improved connectivity.
