HOME AFFAIRS TO REDUCE AIRPORT CONGESTION

THE Department of Home Affairs is to implement a Festive Season Intervention Plan to ease congestion and delays at airports during the peak holiday period.
TBCSA CEO, Mmatšatši Ramawela, said that although the full details were yet to be announced, the council welcomed the news. “We don’t have the full details… and the specifics around how the plan will be managed.”
According to the TBCSA, the government has also indicated it is willing to engage with the trade on the redrafting of regulations relating to travel by minors under the age of 18.
The TBCSA has proposed a number of short to medium-term interventions to address airport congestion and delays and the uncertainty around the requirements for children.
